About Sarah and A Beauty Edit

Hi, I’m Sarah Roberts! Welcome to A Beauty Edit!

I created this website as a passion project while beginning a career in web development. Little did I know that this site would launch me into a new career as a beauty blogger and website owner.

While I would never have predicted I would be here today, I love where my career has taken me: exploring all things BEAUTY and sharing them with you on this website.

It turns out BEAUTY has been a running theme in my life…

My Beauty Journey

My first foray into the business world of beauty and personal care products began in my 20s when I lived on Capitol Hill in Washington, DC.

While I worked as an accountant during the day, in my spare time, I learned how to craft soap from scratch and sold it to friends and family.

Sarah at Bathologie

By the mid-2000s, I opened a retail boutique in my hometown in Pennsylvania that focused on bath, body, and skincare products. I had an entire wall of soap in my store – what a dream!

I eventually decided to change careers and return to school to get a degree in Computer Science, which led me to building websites, including this one.

Over the years, my passion for beauty products, especially skincare, has only grown.

It is my hope that this website will be not only educational but also time-saving for you, in that I will sift through the sea of beauty products on the market and share with you some of the best products out there!

Skincare is truly my passion. My skin concerns are mostly aging-related:

I have naturally straight hair, yet elasticity and frizziness are concerns, so bring on the anti-frizz haircare products!

I prefer the natural makeup look and am always on the hunt for the perfect foundation.

Skincare, Makeup, and Haircare, Oh My!

Whether you are a makeup fanatic or skincare junkie, you’ll find me discussing a lot of affordable beauty products on this website, as effective beauty products should be accessible to us all.

My Methodology

I take a science-based approach when reviewing beauty products. I don’t get caught up in trends, marketing, and pretty packaging. I focus on product ingredients, formulations, and concentrations, which, ultimately, will determine whether a product will work or not.

Please keep in mind that I am not a dermatologist or licensed skincare professional, so please note that information provided by this website is meant for general informational and educational purposes only and is not to be considered a substitute for professional advice.
