Tatcha is a Japanese skincare brand with a cult-following thanks to its luxury products made with pure, natural ingredients. Tatcha The Rice Wash is a popular face wash from the brand that is very effective at cleansing and purifying the skin. However, it comes with a hefty price tag.

If you’re looking for a cheaper alternative, there are several Tatcha Rice Wash dupes on the market that work just as well. Today, I’ll discuss a few of my favorites that will give you similar results without breaking the bank.

Tatcha The Rice Wash
Tatcha The Rice Wash is a true luxury cream cleanser formulated in a pH-neutral amino acid base that won’t strip the skin of its natural oils.
This luxe cleanser contains Japanese rice powder to soften the skin and improve luminosity. It has a slightly grainy texture that provides a very gentle exfoliating effect to remove dead skin cells for improved skin radiance.
This cleanser also contains Tatcha’s Okinawa Algae Blend, which consists of Okinawa algae and hyaluronic acid.
This blend of actives works to hydrate and nourish the skin and improve the skin’s moisture retention. It also helps restore ceramides in the skin, which improves skin barrier function for a healthier complexion.
The creamy lather leaves skin feeling clean, soft, smooth, and hydrated. It’s non-comedogenic, so it won’t clog pores, and is also free of harsh sulfates and other harsh cleansing agents.
Please note that this cleanser contains Tatcha’s signature fragrance.
Tatcha The Rice Wash is a fantastic cleanser for those with normal, dehydrated, or dry skin. (It pairs perfectly with Tatcha’s Camellia Cleansing Oil which removes makeup.)
However, the price tag can be prohibitive for some, so if you’re looking for a more affordable alternative, here are a few great options.
Tatcha Rice Wash Dupes
My Top Picks
The best Tatcha dupe? I have two top picks:
Naturium and 9wishes. Why? Because they contain rice and fermented actives and a similar texture, exfoliating properties, and product experience as Tatcha The Rice Wash.
While some of these cleansers are gently exfoliating like Tatcha, all are water-based foaming cleansers that will leave your skin feeling clean, refreshed, and prepped for the rest of your skincare routine.
Naturium Fermented Rice Enzyme Cleanser
Naturium Fermented Rice Enzyme Cleanser is an exfoliating cleanser that contains fermented rice filtrate, fruit enzymes, and biodegradable micro powders to purify, cleanse and brighten the skin.
This Tatcha dupe removes impurities and polishes the skin like Tatcha without stripping the skin.
When fermented, rice releases actives like lactic acid, amino acids, sterols, and polypeptides, to name a few. Fermented rice also helps the skin absorb nutrients better while hydrating and calming irritation.
The face wash is formulated with a blend of botanical extracts and fermented actives to help brighten the complexion and smooth the skin. Natural fruit enzymes help dissolve dead skin cells and impurities, while micro rice powder gently exfoliates the skin.
Niacinamide is an ingredient that works to even out skin tone, while sodium hyaluronate and glycerin help lock in moisture.
Aloe and panthenol soothe inflammation. Lactic acid sloughs away dead skin cells, revealing brighter, smoother skin.
Naturium’s Fermented Rice Enzyme Cleanser is an excellent Tatcha The Rice Wash dupe because it contains fermented rice and fruit enzymes to brighten and exfoliate the skin.
The creamy cleanser isn’t as thick as Tatcha but provides the same foaming action.
It is suitable for most skin types, and those with sensitive skin will appreciate that it is fragrance-free.
9wishes Rice Foaming Cleanser
9wishes Rice Foaming Cleanser is a Korean foaming cleanser that uses naturally derived rice powder to remove makeup, dirt, excess oil, and impurities.
The cleanser nourishes, moisturizes, and brightens the skin with rice water and rice bran extract.
Micro-ground rice powder provides a gentle exfoliation and refines skin texture. It sweeps away dead skin cells without being harsh or irritating.
This face wash also contains arginine, an amino acid that helps lock in moisture.
White willow bark extract helps to brighten the complexion and control sebum production. Purslane and Skullcap root extracts are antioxidants that soothe the skin.
Lactobacillus/soybean ferment extract supports natural collagen production. Licorice root extract helps to even out skin tone and diminish the appearance of dark spots.
The cleanser has a thick, slightly grainy texture, just like Tatcha, and a fresh, clean fragrance.
Skinfood Rice Daily Cleansing Foam
Skinfood Rice Daily Cleansing Foam is formulated with Cheorwon Odae rice bran water to cleanse the skin and remove impurities without leaving the skin feeling tight or dry.
Cheorwon Odae rice comes from Cheorwon, Gangwon Province, in South Korea. It is award-winning rice known for its high quality and is grown in fresh, fertile soil.
The cleanser moisturizes the skin with glycerin. It also contains lauric acid, a cleansing and foaming agent derived from coconut oil, to give the cleanser a rich, creamy lather. Lauric acid has antimicrobial benefits that may be helpful for acne.
Like Tatcha, the cleanser also contains sodium hyaluronate (the salt form of hyaluronic acid) to hydrate the skin. Panthenol and allantoin are included to soothe and calm the skin.
This is the perfect cleanser for you if you want a rice-enriched cleanser that creates a dense foam with small bubbles. It has a powdery clean, fresh fragrance and is super affordable too!
The Face Shop Rice Water Bright Foam Cleanser
The Face Shop Rice Water Bright Foam Cleanser is a cleansing foam that uses rice water to nourish and brighten the skin.
This Korean cleanser removes makeup, oil, and impurities while leaving your face soft and smooth.

Final Thoughts On Tatcha Rice Polish Dupes
Tatcha The Rice Wash is a beautiful, luxurious cream cleanser. However, it’s not the only fermented/rice-enriched cleanser on the market. These Tatcha dupes are more affordable but just as effective.
When you think about it, you’re better off saving your money and splurging on a product that won’t get washed away. In the meantime, one of these Tatcha dupes will do a great job cleansing your skin without breaking your budget.
