New Skincare at Sephora

As the change of seasons is upon us, there are many new skincare launches on my wishlist as the fall approaches. From face masks and eye cream to serums and a self-tanner, there is a little bit for every skincare lover in new products hitting the market. Sephora offers several new skincare products that are at the top of my list, so today I’m featuring a few that I can’t wait to try, and a few that I’ve already sampled.

On this list, I’ve purchased the Sephora Collection Crystal Facial Roller Set and tried Algenist AA (Alguronic Acid) Barrier Serum, Lala Retro™ Whipped Moisturizer with Ceramides and Herbivore Bakuchiol Retinol Alternative Smoothing Serum. I will let you know my initial impressions of these products and why the rest are on my wishlist.

Ole Henriksen Phat Glow Facial Mask

Ole Henriksen Phat Glow Facial Mask contains PHAs and Nordic birch sap for the ultimate anti-aging treatment to exfoliate and brighten the skin. Polyhydroxy Acids (PHAs) are known to be a gentler chemical exfoliation alternative to AHAs to help even and brighten skin tone. This could be an option for those that are extra sensitive to AHAs. Pink bentonite clay is included to clarify the skin and Nordic Birch Sap helps to hydrate the skin and provide moisture. This is a Clean at Sephora product which means it was formulated without over 50 ingredients such as sulfates (SLS and SLES), parabens, phthalates. Yes to Clean at Sephora!

The inclusion of PHAs is what draws me to this mask. PHAs tend to be gentler than other acids, and since my skin is sensitive, this is a plus! I’ve also heard a rave review about the glow-inducing capabilities of this mask. Have you tried it yet?

Tatcha The Silk Peony Melting Eye Cream

Tatcha The Silk Peony Melting Eye Cream is a new launch by Tatcha that targets anti-aging around the eye area. It contains Japanese White Peony to help lock in moisture and help protect the skin’s barrier function. The eye cream is formulated with a complete silk protein for the ultimate in moisture and hydration. It also contains 30% Hadasei-3, Tatcha’s blend of Japanese superfoods and antioxidants for protection against age-related damage to your skin. Another Clean at Sephora product, yay!

This is another product that I’ve heard rave reviews about. A sample is on it’s way to me, so I will update this post once I’ve given it a try.

Lala Retro Whipped Moisturizer with Ceramides

Lala Retro Whipped Moisturizer with Ceramides is a reformulated version of their star product Lala Retro Whipped Moisturizer now with added ceramides. It contains a blend of six rare African oils including Marula Oil which is rich in fatty acids and vitamin E.

In this new formula, you’ll find Ceramides AP, EOP, and NP, which are waxy lipids that help maintain the skin’s barrier function and keep skin hydrated. Sodium Hyaluronate Crosspolymer penetrates the skin even deeper than hyaluronic acid and provides long-term hydration, as it can bind up to five times the water binging capacity of regular hyaluronic acid.

I really loved using La La Retro Whipped Moisturizer during the winter months. It has a rich whipped texture that my skin drinks in. I’ve sampled the new version and it seems a bit creamier than the original, perhaps due to the added ceramides. I can’t wait to try this again when the cold weather hits.

Algenist AA (Alguronic Acid) Barrier Serum

Algenist AA Barrier Serum

Algenist AA (Alguronic Acid) Barrier Serum contains a powerhouse of anti-oxidants including Alguronic Acid, the patented ingredient found in all of Algenist’s products. Alguronic Acid is naturally-sourced from algae, sustainably-produced and helps to improve the firmness of the skin. It targets redness, dullness, discoloration, evens skin tone, and minimizes the appearance of wrinkles.

What is so interesting is that this serum does not stop there. It also includes Niacinamide (Vitamin B3) to calm redness and dull skin among other benefits. Niacinamide is one of my favorite skincare ingredients. You can read more about niacinamide in my post on the benefits of niacinamide:

It also contains antioxidant Phloretin (from apple wood) to help even skin tone and antioxidant Ergothioneine (from mushroom) to neutralize ozone pollution and recycle vitamin C, which is also included in the formula in the form of Ascorbic Acid.

This serum contains silicones, so please keep that in mind if silicones are an issue for your skin. I like how the silicones make this serum apply very smoothly and provide a nice base for makeup. The serum does have a noticeable scent that dissipates after it is applied. So far, I am really enjoying this serum (sample size) for use during the day. I love all of the antioxidants and how they protect your skin.

Glow Recipe Avocado Melt Retinol Eye Sleeping Mask

Glow Recipe Avocado Melt Retinol Eye Sleeping Mask targets a slew of undereye concerns to brighten, firm, hydrate and depuff the skin around your eyes. I have never used an eye sleeping mask, but the ingredients in this formula are very interesting to me. Avocado Melt Retinol Eye Sleeping Mask is a rich cream that includes avocado oil, encapsulated retinol, rosemary leaf extract, coffee fruit extract, avocado fruit extract, squalane, hyaluronic acid and again one of my favorites, niacinamide.

Avocado is rich in vitamin E and vitamin C, which helps fight wrinkles and environmental factors. Coffeeberry (the seed of the coffee plant) is filled with antioxidants that help fight free radical damage in the skin. The formula releases throughout the night so that by morning your under-eye area will appear brighter and more awake.

Encapsulated retinol helps to improve uneven skin tone, sits on the surface of the skin, lingers and releases slower and is gentler than other forms of retinol. I always go for eye products that have gentle forms of retinol in them to help the thin skin under my eyes.

Another Clean at Sephora product. I am sensing a theme here! So glad to see so many new skincare products without all of the chemicals that are not good for our skin!

Sephora Collection Crystal Facial Roller Set

Sephora Crystal Facial Roller Set

Sephora Collection Crystal Facial Roller Set includes a natural stone facial roller with three interchangeable heads: rose quartz, amethyst, and jade. The face roller helps with lymphatic draining and to improve the appearance of puffiness and wrinkles while cooling and soothing the skin.

Sephora Crystal Facial Roller Set

I just purchased this set and I am impressed by the weight of the roller heads and the entire set appears very sturdy. I look forward to trying it after it has been cooled in the refrigerator. This would be a great gift since you are getting three facial rollers in one at a very reasonable price.

Josie Maran Argan Bright Skin Vitamin C Serum

Having been a fan of Josie Maran’s body care products, I look forward to trying her Argan Bright Skin Vitamin C Serum. Vitamin C is such a powerful antioxidant in skincare and I can never have too many products with vitamin C as the star ingredient. Vitamin C helps to improve the appearance of skin tone, reduce the look of dark spots and hyperpigmentation, and brightens skin to increase skin’s radiance.

The formula also includes rice bran, marshmallow root and licorice root for luminosity. It also contains 100% pure organ oil, the star ingredient in Josie Maran’s products for hydrating and firming the skin. Argan oil is filled with vitamin E, antioxidants, and firming omega essential fatty acids. A Clean at Sephora product.

Primera Miracle Seed Essence

Primera Miracle Seed Essence comes from Primera, a new to Sephora skincare line from the Korean beauty brand AmorePacific. Primera’s products are formulated with plant or fruit seeds. Their focus is on germination when the nutrients in seeds are at their peak. Primera takes its name from “prime” and “era”, or the era of prime, the moment a seeds sprouts.

Primera Miracle Seed Essence contains lotus seeds for hydration and protection against environmental factors. This essence helps to smooth the skin’s texture and tone and help improve dullness and dryness.

I am a fan of the few AmorePacific products that I’ve tried. I have sampled and enjoyed Primera’s Alpine Berry Water Cream so I look forward to trying this essence. The step of using essence or toner as another product in an anti-aging skincare arsenal is much better than having this product type be just another step to remove leftover makeup. A Clean at Sephora product.

TAN-LUXE Super Glow Hyaluronic Self-Tan Serum

I’ve heard great things about TAN-LUXE Super Glow Hyaluronic Self-Tan Serum. Combining both self-tanning and hydration in the form of hyaluronic acid is win-win. It contains cocoa seed extract for protection from environmental pollutants and antioxidant raspberry seed oil which contains vitamin E. The formula works to even skin tone, minimize hyperpigmentation all while providing a customizable glow to the skin.

I use a self-tanner every day (discussed in this post on self-tanning), so I am curious how this product performs in comparison. Talk about a multi-tasker!!

Herbivore Bakuchiol Retinol Alternative Smoothing Serum

Herbivore Bakuchiol Retinol Alternative Smoothing Serum

Herbivore Bakuchiol Retinol Alternative Smoothing Serum is a completely natural plant-based alternative to retinol. As soon as I began to hear the rave reviews, I tried a sample of this product and quickly purchased the full-size bottle. I will go more in-depth on this product and bakuchiol in a future post, but here’s a quick summary.

This serum contains bakuchiol which is plant-based and helps to minimize the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. It acts like retinol, but without the irritation. The serum is also formulated with PHAs (polyhydroxy acids) to resurface the skin and Tremella Mushroom for hydration.

This is a jelly-textured water-based serum and is very gentle. I experience no irritation at all and have seen nearly identical results to the mild forms of retinol that I use. A Clean at Sephora product.

Peter Thomas Roth Pro Strength Retinoid Peptide Serum

Peter Thomas Roth Pro Strength Retinoid Peptide Serum uses the power of retinoids and peptides for an anti-aging treatment that targets wrinkles and fine lines. The formula combines 10 percent granactive retinoid in the form of Hydroxypinacolone Retinoate, a newer type of retinoid to help reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles without the irritation known retinol.

Also in the formula is a 5% hexapeptide complex to support collagen production while firming and plumping the skin. It also contains hyaluronic acid for hydration, emollient squalane for moisturizing and to protect skin from transepidermal water loss. Ceramide NP supports a healthy skin barrier and hydration, and soothing cucumber extract and ginger root extract tone the skin.

I’ve used many of the large catalog of products in the Peter Thomas Roth skincare line and even sold some in my bath and body boutique. I am excited to try this anti-aging treatment that has some powerful anti-agers in its formula.

There you have it, a few of the newest skincare products at Sephora. While new skincare products launch daily at Sephora, these are a few that I’ve tried or have on my wishlist.

What about you? Any new skincare that you’re loving? I’d love to know!
